We Use AVID Protools as our Audio Workstation. We find it is still the industry standard for Audio Recording, Mixing and Mastering. It is highly transportable between different systems which makes it easier for sending away for mastering etc..
Our System is based around the superb and highly flexible RME UFX interface. We are able to record up to 30 channels simultaneuously and offer great headphone mixes with its reverbs, EQ and compression.
We have a large collection of boutique Condenser, ribbon and Dynamic mics including the Neumann M149, Neumann TLM103, Neumann Km85's, AEA A840, Beesneez Arabella, Beesneez Elly, AKG C414's, Rode K2, Oktavamod Pencil, Fet and Tube Consenser pairs etc....
Enough mics for any situation.
One of our gripes with studios has always been the lack of freedom with personal monitoring when tracking. We use a Hear Systems 'Hearback' unit with up to 8 satelite boxes which allow the musician complete freedom to set their own mix when tracking. We think this is one of the best features of the studio.
Our Studio Monitors are KRK VXT8's and Event ALP5's,
Or instruments are available to hire for your session. They include a well maintained Yamaha C5 concert Grand piano, Nord Stage 2 Piano, a fully restored Vintage 88 key Fender Rhodes and an Original Wulitzer electric piano (both available on request).
For Drums we have 10 different Snare drums and lots of world percussion. Our kits are Sonor and Vintage (fully restored) Camco USA drums in a full range of sizes for any style of music.
OUTBOARD GEAR and MIC PRES
No need to travel to Sydney or Melbourne, our gear, experience and spaces compare to the best! Contact us for a quote!
The studio has some of great pres and compressors found in many studios worldwide including an Avalon 737, UA LA-610, Focusrite Isa 430, MindPrint DTC and TLA.
We also have a pair of the original Focusrite Liquid Channels which can accurately emulate famous pieces of outboard.
Drum dracking is based around an 8 channel Valve desk made by TLAudio (UK) which allows us to add a little natural saturation to the tracks.
